Cricut Monthly Challenge

This is the Cricut Monthly Challenge to make something from Recycled materials. I chose to do a recipe card. I used a shoe box, shoe box lid, Spam package, Mac and Cheese package, scrap paper in red, blue, and yellow, and a black tie from leather lace.
The cartridges I used were George and Basic Shapes, From My Kitchen, and Mini Monograms.
The flower and the spam box letters were Cuttlebugged with Swiss Dots.
The recipe is for "Spamtastic Breakfast Burritos". This is a good way to take care of all those recipes I have been saving. I guess it is time to try it out. It does say that it is "Crazy Tasty".
Fun to make. You could use this to give a recipe to a friend.

30 Loaves of Bread

We have a new project to work on for March. We will be making 30 loaves of bread for a Stake Relief Society Meeting. Lots of baking is in our future. Wish us luck. They said they would round up some women to cut the bread. The plan is to serve it with some quiche for an early breakfast meeting. What a wonderful husband I have to be my partner in these big projects.

Cricut Weekly Challenge #17

B.A.B.Y. Cricut Weekly Challenge #17

Wednesday, January 26, 2011

I am so excited to be in the KSL Studio 5 Make it for $5 Challenge. I found this
wedding photo album at DI this week for $2.oo. I took out the photo pages and turned it on its side to make drawers. I made three boxes out of cardboard from my scrapbook paper stack back and glued them to each album inside. I bought some book tags for $1.50 and attached them with brads. I made three die cuts. A card, a stamp and an envelop. I filled the drawers with thank you cards, envelopes, and stamps to send them. I call it a stationary station where I will be ready to send out thank you notes at a minutes notice. So fun to make. Thanks for stopping by.

January Monthly Challenge: Scraplift a Circle Blog Project.

Project should include:
2 or more Cricut Cuts
Use a project seen on the Cricut Circle Blog
Use products from 2 Sponsors

I chose to scraplift a cute cupcake card that I saw on the October 1st Blog. It was made by Charity Hassel. I cut it out following her specifications. It was from the Cricut Cartridge Straight From the Nest. Which I really like by the way.
The Sponsored products that I used were pink Bazzill embossed paper for the base of the cupcake and white for the tag and Imaginisce rhinestones as bling on the button on the cherry and 2 others on the front of the card.

I cut out some pink felt for the 2nd layer and some brown felt for the cherry stem and used foam to help it stand out. The cherry has some red glitter on it.
Seize the cupcake is a hero arts cling stamp.
Thanks for the Yummy idea.

Cricut Weekly Challenge # 15

This is the Weekly Challenge # 15: Feeling Frosty.

Brrrr! Winter is in full swing over many parts of the country . . . but even if it is warm where you are, you can use Winter-inspired elements to fuel your creative juices on your next Cricut project. We challenge you to incorporate white paint, metal, and a snowflake cut on your project this week.

These are the cartridges that I used:
Winter Woodland-Frosty
Winter Lace-Snowflake
And the scalloped ring from saved on the Gypsy

I flecked white paint on the card and then sprinkled glitter to give it the frosty look. I also added white paint to the metal star and tied it up with some silver cord. The snowflake was cut at 3.59 out of some glitter paper with an Imaginisce rhinestone in the middle. The snow flake shadow has some stitching around the edge. The scalloped ring is also stitched. So fun to make. Hope you like it.

Primary Bulletin Boards

I had a good time making these 3 bulletin boards for our ward. My husband was so nice to help me with them. We used the Cricut on all three of them. The first one has printing from the Cricut on the scriptures, and the theme was laminated and then cut out. The second one has some frames and a spinner and the last one has a lot of cuts from "Create a Critter" and the words in the theme are laminated and the scripture is printed. The creatures, sun and flowers have styrofoam used to give them dimension. They change out the scripture and the theme every month that are in the frames.

Lisa's Design Star Contest-Altered Box

Here is the Birthday Cake Box finished. The Primary is going to have the children come up and choose a bag of treats for their birthdays. They also sing a birthday song to them.
